Starbirth region NGC 602Starbirth region NGC 602, Hubble Space Telescope image. A cluster of bright, newly formed stars (blue) are blowing a cavity in the centre of a nebula (gas and dust), which is glowing under the impact of the stellar radiation. This starbirth region is 196, 000 light years from Earth, in the Small Magellanic Cloud, in the constellation Tucana. This image was obtained with Hubble's Advanced Camera for Surveys instrument. The results were published in January 2007.
