Sand diver
Sand diver (Synodus intermedius) on a seabed. This reef-associated predatory fish inhabits subtropical waters in the Western Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico. It is predatory and rests on the sea floor, beneath sand, from where it can ambush unsuspecting prey. Photographed in Bonaire, Netherlands Antilles.
